Historical Stock Research  

Choose the "Daily Price Record" - a database containing historical and current pricing data for securities, traded on the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and American Stock Exchange. TIP: To look up high/low/closing price of a stock (active or inactive), or end-of-day value of a mutual fund, enter in the name or symbol in the search box and specify a time period.

You can call up the issue from the date the stock was bought or sold, and flip to page with the stock prices. Click the "Publications" tab to "Browse Specific Issues". Once your find your issue, choose to view the results in "Page Map". You can page through until you reach the page with the stock exchange information.

Enter the name of the company or the ticker symbol in the "Get Quotes" seachbox, then choose Historical Prices from the menu. Coverage varies depending on the stock, but historical prices can go back as far as 1960's. One catch: the stock must still be in existence.

Besides other investment info, this site offers historical stock closing prices back to 1981. Enter a ticker symbol and a date to look up the price on that date.

Get info on the various Dow Jones' indexes and their components. Historical data is presented in graph and narrative form. Free registration is required
