Get Your Magazine Checkouts Moved Over


Anyone still using the old "Zinio for Libraries" app should download the latest RBdigital app, in order to keep reading our digital magazines.The old Zinio app was frozen at midnight on April 17, 2018.  While the app may still open up, users cannot open previous magazine checkouts for reading.

Don't Forget
A "Zinio for Libraries" account login and password works with the RBdigital app for magazines/eAudiobooks. 
Patrons should NOT register again. Without the same Zino account email/password, their previous magazine checkouts won't be appear. 
Anyone who has forgotten their Password or User Name (email address used) use the Reset link on the RBdigital Login screen.

Once installed, all Checked Out titles will be migrated to the RBdigital app. It takes just a few minutes for the move. BUT for offline reading, titles must be downloaded again to a device using the app.

What's available?   

Nearly 100 popular magazines such as The Economist, National Geographic InteractiveThe New Yorker and Vanity Fair. Titles are sometimes withdrawn by publishers - see all titles in the Library catalog.There is no limit for digital magazine checkouts or downloads.


You Will Need

  1. A valid Arlington Public Library Card  and PIN. Be sure your Library card has not expired and has no excessive fines and fees
  2. An email address to create a free RBdigital account which keeps your history and usage record. Unlike hoopla or OverDrive, these will NOT appear in APL library accounts or the APL app.
  3. Their mobile app requires an RBdigital account for authentication. "Zinio for Libraries" accounts work with RBdigital Magazines or eAudio. No need to register again.
  4. Access to the Internet on a computer or mobile device


Patrons can update their RBdigital username, email or password on the RBdigital website/app profile screen. Library card number changes cannot be updated by patrons here. Patrons should submit a Library Help Ticket from the Library website for any problems with library card numbers.



Where to Find Digital Magazine Titles

On a computer or device web browser  

  • From eCollection â€‹choose Digital Magazines 
  • Bookmark our RBdigital website where both eAudio and magazine titles appear
  • From our Library webpage for My eAccounts -  Login to RBdigital account
  • Search by magazine title in our Library catalog (but not in the Full-text Finder)

The RBdigital app

  • Download from appstore on device
  • A former Zinio account email/password is needed to authenticate the app
  • Register for an RBdigital account if you never used Zinio for Libraries

Online or Off?

  • To read them offline (e.g. on an airplane) magazine issues have to be downloaded to a device from within the latest RBdigital app
  • Note: the default download location is device internal storage. Files  can be moved to an SD card manually

Skip the Download - Read Online
Downloaded magazine files can take up lots of space but it's easy to read them in your browser, as long as you are online and connected to the Internet.



For Zinio users Username means the email you used to Sign Up

Lost your Zinio password? Use the Reset link on RBdigital Login screen. You'll get an email so you change it.
