Issue Six: You Are Here

Issue 6: You Are Here

This week we're sharing three ways to remember your summer:

 1. APL Maker Challenge: Make Your Arlington Quarantine Time Capsule with our instructions! Bury it or hold on to it for the future you! It could be a family or an individual project.

2. Documenting Your Days: Share a poem, a photograph, a drawing, etc., a journal entry, an interview with a family member or friend about being in Arlington at this time

3. Draw a map about your time in quarantine (inspired by this article)

Random info about time capsules:

  • What is a time capsule?  A time capsule is a container that holds present day items, such as photos, newspapers (if you still receive those,) letters and more. It's typically hidden away for your future self or someone of your choosing to open. This is perfect as a gift to yourself or a gift for your child for future years.
  • The International Time Capsule Society estimates there are between 10,000 and 15,000 time capsules worldwide.
  • The United States' oldest known time capsule was the work of none other than Samuel Adams and Paul Revere! It was unsealed in 2015 and contained a treasure trove of artifacts!
