Lynda.com provides video courses at all levels for learning software, web design, business or creative skills...and lots more. Try photography, drawing, architectural design and even video and music recording and production. And what about typography and fonts?
Arlington County employees access to a different site for Lynda.com -- they should see the Training page on
AC Commons. For this, Staff must request a Lynda.com online learning account in the Training Center, and have this approved by their supervisor - then the content will be available to them. It is different from the Library's subscription because Lynda.com not only provides testing, it tracks the completion of the course content for the student.
The Mobile App
Update - 2017
Lynda.com has informed us that the Library edition does not support the mobile app. This means that patrons are free to try downloading and using the app -- but neither APL nor the vendor can provide any help or support. This is the only way a video can be downloaded, so patrons may want to try anyway.
More than 3000+ courses with 129,942 video tutorials. Most tutorials last several hours but are broken into multiple chapters. Courses may also include exercise files (practice), closed captioning and text transcripts.
Can I download a video?
ONLY if you are able to use the mobile app.
Tip: You MUST be Logged in to Lynda account to activate Roku code
