Why do I need to go to the library to get remote access to JSTOR?

JSTOR requires everyone to login first via the library and then created an account if you want to use it remotely.  JSTOR calls this "pairing." Learn more in How to Create a JSTOR Account on YouTube.


I'm in JSTOR but I don't see Arlington Public Library on the list of libraries. What do I do?

Register or login to your JSTOR Arlington Public Library account.  


How do I know that I have created a JSTOR account?

Once you are logged into JSTOR you should see Access Provided by Arlington Public Library at the top of the page.


How do I know that I have created a JSTOR account?

There is no limit to the number of titles you can borrow. However certain Digital Magazines may have limits on the number of simultaneous users allowed.


How long is my JSTOR pairing account good for?  

Your Arlington Public Library JSTOR account is valid for one year, after which you will need to visit an Arlington Public Library location to renew the account.


Why can’t I find the most the recent issue of a journal?

Some journals have a "moving wall" which represents the time between the last issue available in JSTOR and the most recently published issue of a journal.  The “moving wall” can vary from 0 to 10 years.
