Can I view Films on Demand on a mobile device?

Yes. Access Viedo: Just for Kids utilizes Flash. You will be able to stream Access Viedo: Just for Kids on most devices without any changes.

The following table lists the devices that are supported on Films On Demand for video playback:

Why create my own Just for Kids account?

My Profile

Once a user account has been created, users can access and modify their profile   Users can upload a profile picture, change their name and email address, change their password, and select subjects and grades of interest. Account settings can be accessed from the top navigation by clicking on "Welcome, <your name>."

My Account Settings

The My Account Settings section allows you to modify individual account preferences.  Many of these settings can be set by an administrator as defaults and then may be overridden at the individual user level.  In addition to basic settings, you may also determine the active page tools you would like to use and set the display order on the view media pages, and opt-in and out of monthly new title emails and newsletters.  Account settings can be accessed from the top navigation by clicking on "Welcome, <your name>."

My Content

Logged in users will have access to the My Content dashboard where they can view all of their available resources and easily access any of these features listed below.

  • Playlists - Just for Kids content can be added to playlists from search results or the media pages.  Options exist to add new playlists directly to folders or create a new folder at the time you save a new playlist.  Options to move content into one of these folders and view all content in a particular folder exists as well.
  • Favorites - Just for Kids content can be added to favorites from search results or the media pages. Favorites supports folder organization as well.  Options exist to add new favorites directly to folders or create a new folder at the time you save a new favorite.  Options to move content into one of these folders and view all content in a particular folder exists as well.
  • Folders - Folders are universal across the entire My Content section, instead of only being visible to the specific section they were created in.  Options to move content into one of these folders and view all content in a particular folder exist inside each section as well.
  • Saved Searches - The Saved Searches section allows anyone with a user account to save their search results.  Basic searches using the top search bar, and compound searches created from within advanced search are all supported.  Saving a search also allows you to add notes about that search that will appear at the top of the search page, when accessed from within My Saved Searches.  Options exist to add new searches directly to folders, or create a new folder at the time you save a new search. Options to move content into one of these folders and view all content in a particular folder exists as well.
  • Custom Segments - The Custom Segments section allows anyone who is logged in with a user account to create and save their own custom segments.  Custom segments provide another level of customization, allowing you to create the perfect segment that best meets your needs.  When you create a custom segment, you are creating a virtual segment using in and out points of the video.  These segments do not alter the original video and are not downloadable.  Segments that are created are visible on the segments tab of any video they were originally created from, at the bottom of the segments tab.

To create an account, after accessing the database, click "Your Profile" in the upper right corner. At the bottom of the box, select Sign Up to create a new account.

Are the films closed captioned?

Nearly all titles in the collection have closed-captioning. Toggle on/off closed captioning using the CC symbol in the lower right corner of the video player window.

Having trouble logging in?

If you are having trouble logging in from the Arlington Public Library website:

  • Log in with a valid Arlington Public Library Card Number 
  • Be sure your account has not expired and has no excessive fines and fees
  • Be sure to type all 14 digits of your library card number without dashes or spaces

If you are having trouble logging in to your personal account on the Just for Kids website, please follow the prompts underneath the, "Having trouble logging in?" link from the main login page or in the "Your Profile" menu.  You will be given two options.  Retrieve Username and Reset Your Password.

1. Retrieve Username

Enter the email address associated with your username to receive an email containing your account information.

2. Reset Your Password

You can change or reset your password directly from the main login page by providing your username. An email will be sent to the address on file containing instructions on how to reset your password.

Not sure where your username or password reset email was sent? Here are some tips to help you find it.

1. Search for the email

We'll send the email from "noreply@infobase.com," so you can quickly search for it. If it isn't in your inbox, check your folders. If a spam filter or email rule moved the email, it might be in the Spam, Junk, Trash, Deleted Items, or Archive folder.

2. Make sure you're checking the correct email account

If you're looking for a password reset email, make sure you're checking the correct email inbox. It will only be sent to the email address that you added to your account.

3. Resend the email

To resend a reset email, repeat the steps to reset your password and we'll send another copy to the email address on file.

4. Make sure that you're getting email

If you're not getting any email, you might need to contact your email service provider for help.
