About

Mango Languages is an online language learning platform offering interactive lessons designed to help users learn new languages at their own pace. Accessible from anywhere, Mango Languages provides a variety of language courses with engaging content to suit different learning styles.

Features:

Please note, first time users must create a profile in order to access Mango Languages.

Getting Started: Mango Languages on a Smartphone or Tablet

  1. Go to the app store on your device, search for the Mango Language app and install it.
  2. Once installed, tap the app icon to open it. After opening the app for the first time, you will be prompted to sign up.
    1. Tap "Start Learning"
    2. Tap the language you want to learn.
    3. Tap "Skip to Signup."
    4. Enter your email address.
    5. Create password.
  3. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  4. On the Unlock More Lessons page, tap "Search" beside Find Free Mango.
  5. Type 'Arlington Public Library' in the search bar to find Arlington Public Library.
  6. Enter your library card number then tap "Access Mango."
  7. Tap "Continue."

Getting Started: Mango Languages in Browser (PC or Mac)

  1. Go to the Mango Languages website.
  2. Enter your Library Card Number and PIN.
  3. Sign up for a Mango Languages account via the Sign In option on the Mango Languages homepage. Use any email address and a password of your choice to sign up.
  4. Choose Your Language: Browse the available languages and select the one you’d like to start learning.
  5. Start Learning: Begin your first lesson and explore the interactive tools to enhance your language skills.

Navigating the Site

Mobile App:

Along the bottom of the screen, you will see a tool bar with four buttons:

  1. Learn: Displays tutorials for your current chapter and progress in green.
  2. Vocabulary: Offers vocab cards for memorization.
  3. Review: A daily review to reinforce long-term memory.
  4. Resume Learning: The purple button to continue where you left off.

Web Browser:

Along the top of the screen, you will see a toolbar with four large buttons:

  1. Learn: Shows tutorials for your chapter and progress in green.
  2. Vocabulary: Provides vocab cards for memorization.
  3. Explore: Access to interactive reading passages and Mango Movies.
  4. Tools: Translates basic conversations between languages.
