The Shop Equipment and Technology

The Silhouette Cameo Cutter is an electronic cutting machine that hooks up to your computer.

It comes with software that enables you to create a design and then cut it out on paper, vinyl, fabric, or heat transfer material.

The Shop also has a heat press with various attachments for patron use.

1. Create your design in the Silhouette program using one of The Shop’s Macs.
2. Connect the Mac to the Cameo Cutter using the USB connection. Load in the cutting mat with a material of your choice. Make sure they are aligned with the blue arrows on the machine.
3. Follow the steps in the program, making sure that the settings reflect the project accurately.
4. Click “Send.” The Cameo will then begin working on your project, along with an estimate for how long it will take to complete.

Each 12”x12” sheet of vinyl costs $0.50.

Each sheet of heat transfer vinyl costs $0.75.

If you bring your own material, there is no fee.

If your project includes words, be sure to orient the project so that it does not read backwards.

If you don’t see a design you like in the program’s library, find an image from the internet and use the “trace” function.
