POPS Resource Guide

Winter reading runs from January 1 - March 1

Program basics:

• Patrons will have two ways to participate: 
  • APL app: patrons can create an account (all patrons will need to create a new account)
  • Bookmark: a paper version which staff will then use to enter into the Staff Admin site.
• To complete the reading program, all participants mark that they've read three books. Once they've read three books, they can visit any library branch to pick up their prize (if they used the bookmark, staff will need to set up their account on the admin side first, just like summer reading).
• Prizes: 
  • Everyone can select from an assortment of prizes!  
  • Everyone who completes the Winter Reading challenge will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a set of five tickets to the Washington Wizards game on April 3 against the Orlando Magic OR a set of four tickets to a Washington Capitals game at a mutually agreed upon date.
